The new Pavilion of Glass in Klatovy, Czech Republic (PASK) was opened by the mayor of the city on August 15, 2014, in a ceremony attended by local dignitaries, the museum curator, Dr. Jitka Lněničková, Dr. Jitka Lněničkováand the Austrian collector whose collection of Loetz glass is exhibited at the museum.

Also in attendance were Karin and Heinrich von Spaun, representing the family who owned the Loetz Witwe glassworks during its heyday at the end of the 19th and start of the 20th century.

The 600 piece exhibit covers the period of Loetz production from circa 1880 onwards, with particular emphasis on the art nouveau production, including a large number of Phaenomen pieces. The collection is magnificently presented, as can be seen in the accompanying photos, and anyone interested in Bohemian glass should immediately put visiting PASK on their ’to do’ list, alongside the Passau Glass Museum.
