Our first year has certainly been an exciting one! We have enjoyed providing information about Loetz art glass to museums, auction houses, dealers and thousands of collectors around the world. In 12 short months we have introduced over 50 new decors and have answered hundreds of collector emails.
Some of our most exciting and gratifying work has been helping collectors. This vase is similar to a vase that was recently purchased by a collector who contacted us to inquire about the decor name.
While this is a beautiful piece of art glass, it is not Loetz. It is an example of the newer "Loetz-style" pieces that we frequently see on the market. Luckily, the collector purchased this vase from a reputable dealer who refunded the collector's $3500 that they paid for this vase. This is a good ending to a potentially bad story but a story that reminds us that the time and effort that we put into this website to help Loetz collectors is clearly worth our efforts.
