Figural - 1892

The term "Figural" is not a décor but rather shapes.  Figural creations such as animals, shells, flower forms, tree trunks, etc. were popular creations of the Loetz factory.  Early animal examples include Martelé stags, pigs and elephants, white opalescent swans with Candia Papillon feathering, interesting owls and beautiful Papillon storks as well as cats, rabbits and other animals. Later productions include such animals as lizards and turtles as well as small birds.  A wide range of decors such as Martelé, Papillon, Diaspora, Formosa, Cytisus, Neptun as well as various Phaenomen Genres were applied to Loetz figural forms. Most of the Loetz figurals were created as vessels capable of displaying an arrangement of flowers.  While many different figural examples were created at the Loetz factory,  they seem to be quite hard to find!
