Glatt - ca. 1898

Candia, crete, bronze, dark blue, Diana, olympia, ruby metallic and numerous other ground colors.

Note: The German word, "Glatt", translates to "smooth" in English.  The term "Glatt" is actually a description for an optical feature rather than a decor.  Examples of "Glatt" were produced in both a glossy as well as a matte, lightly iridescent finish.  Based on the number of mentions of "glatt" found in the Loetz production notes, it appears that it was an important feature requested for many of the commissioned orders.
