Heliotrope with Dark Blue & Silver - 1900

Heliotrope (a pinkish-purple color) ground with dark blue and silver bands. Rare décor made for the World Exhibition, Paris, 1900.

Note: Originally this decor was depicted in several books as well as this website exhibiting a blue ground with indistinct swirls of heliotrope and silver colored bands.  The blue vase presented earlier exhibited indentations but the production notes do not mention indentations for PN II-381.  A side by side comparison of these two examples is presented below.  We believe that the pinkish-purple colored, "heliotrope", example shown below best reflects the archival information for this rare Paris Exposition decor.  We also believe that the previous example was actually an example of "blau Capri".
